“Only Mountains” series was started 3 years ago after mountain hiking. It was Verhovyny, the place of the highest peaks in the Carpathians mountains. It’s memories of going to the top, beholding beauty and vastness of the mountains, feeling of happiness freedom and peace, multiple emotions, meditation state, being where the only sound you hear is the flap of the bee wings landing on the flower. I still feel the touch of the wind in my hair.

In the mountains every grass, every flower meadow is filled with meaning. I was in the mountains in a thunderstorm, drizzling rain and warm sun. The emotions are incredible. The air is filled with smells of the wood - moss, needles, mushrooms, bark and pinecones which are especially enhanced during the rain. Scents of blooming thyme, raspberry, blueberry and lingonberry bushes, willow herb.

The air is full of fragrances and sun light to the very end of immense horizon.

Big size canvases and bright soft oil paints are the most suitable to express my emotions, magnificence of the mountain ranges and multi-dimensional nature. Using wide brushes and palette knives increases the feeling of big planes of the open space.
